Position description:
Calvert Impact is seeking to fill an Analyst position on the Finance and Accounting team to perform day-to-day accounting activities. This position provides a detailed view into the processes of a global leader in impact investing. The role requires someone with a strong understanding of general accounting practices as well as the following detailed essential job functions:
Accounting:
- Obtain and maintain a good understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure for multi entity structure.
- Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to monthly reconciliations of Loan Portfolio, CI note, fixed assets and depreciation expenses, Other Account receivables, Accounts Payable, Net assets, Intercompany transaction, Sub debts, Grants (Donation) Receivable and revenue.
- Assist in the monthly/quarterly closing of each entity.
- Reconcile transactions and reports from various systems of records to the Intacct General Ledgers per entity.
- Assist in handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
- Assist in compilation and preparation of the monthly financial statements, including budget to actual reports.
- Response to inquiries from other departments regarding accounting recording, reporting requests and the like.
- Identify discrepancies, research on financial reports variance, perform accounting procedure to correct variance.
- Assist in various state tax filing preparation.
Audits:
- Assist in preparation of various workpaper schedules for all key balance sheet accounts which cover Bank recons, Portfolio AR, Grant AR, other AR, Passthrough, AP, Fixed assets, Net assets, and significant revenue accounts (grant, donation, related parties fee, etc.)
- Assist in preparing annual external audit, complete requested materials, response to audit questions raised promptly, especially inquiries on accounting procedure and treatment applied on sample transactions.
- Assist to ensure a clean and timely year end audit.
Treasury:
- Support in managing cash balances, and banking related matters.
- Set up Loan disbursements.
- Set up vendor payments and employee reimbursements.
- Assist in cash flow planning/analysis.
- Enhance and maintain banking and vendor relationships.
