NEC New Columbia Solar - Audi Field

New Columbia Solar (“NCS”) is a full‐service solar energy company based in and serving the District of Columbia. In May 2020, NCS completed construction of a 628 kWDC solar system on the canopies and rooftops of the D.C. United’s Audi Field. The newly constructed soccer stadium and subsequent rooftop solar system are consistent with the MLS’s ‘Greener Goals’ initiative.

Greenex’s Center for Energy Education

NEC Greenex - Center for Green Education The Center for Energy Education (the Center) is based in rural Halifax County in northeast North Carolina where the median income is just over $35,000 per year. The Center was founded by an NEC Fund V portfolio company, Geenex Solar, a solar developer focused on utility-scale solar projects. The facility provides community education, industry innovation, and workforce development to residents of Halifax County, as well as serves as a hands-on training ground for solar installation, community engagement, a destination for students and families to learn about renewable energy. The Center is also a training facility which provides the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in the renewable energy industry.

NEC Hecate Grid

New Energy Capital Partners’ portfolio has been expanding into the energy storage space. At the end of 2020, NECP’s investment companies were developing projects approximating a power rating of 1,500 MW. These projects could store up to 6.0 GWh of electricity when fully operational.
