Chicanos Por La Causa - Empowering Communities Across The Southwest

We recently closed a loan to Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC), a community development corporation that serves individuals and families with low to moderate income in the southwestern U.S. Their mission is to drive economic and political empowerment of the people they serve to help them achieve self-sufficiency. For more than 50 years, CPLC has provided an array of bilingual and bicultural services to promote healthier and stronger communities.

Calvert Impact Capital's loan will be used primarily to fund activities associated with CPLC's real estate portfolio, allowing them to provide flexible capital to developers to meet the housing needs of their communities. Championing an integrated approach to affordable housing and community development, CPLC focuses on single & multi-family housing, supportive housing services, neighborhood stabilization, rural housing, and housing counseling. CPLC provides housing stability to those who need it the most with a strong focus on senior, at-risk, and migrant populations and provides residents with a diverse array of well-maintained and affordable community assets, including schools, health centers, community centers, and retail and office space.

Today, CPLC impacts more than 306,000 lives through real estate management and investment, integrated health & human services, education, and economic development. We are excited to help them grow their real estate portfolio and their impact in communities across Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.
